JFA-PFE held Four rounds of training for Parliamentarians from the House of Peoples’ Representatives and Regional Council of Amhara, South Nations, Nationalities and Peoples and Sidama regional states. This was with the overall aim of building lawmakers’ capacity to perform their parliamentary functions effectively. Focused on governance and leadership, peacebuilding and dialogue, Federalism and Intergovernmental Relations, and Rule of Law and Parliamentary Oversight. Four hundred eighty-seven regional parliamentarians and members of Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa City councils benefited. The training aimed to prepare members of newly formed state councils following the 6th General Election to effectively contribute to the rule of law and peacebuilding by improving their understanding of the federal form of government, intergovernmental relations, and their roles and responsibilities.
