On the February 26, 2016, the 5th annual Bahir Dar city run was performed with a theme “Children Lives Matter; Stop Child Marriage.” More than five thousand Bahir Dar city residents, famous athletes, government officials and NGO representatives participated in this 10kms run for the cause of ending child brides. In this city run Justice for All Prison Fellowship Ethiopia advocated for ending child marriage and creating better awareness on the negative consequences of Child Marriage and FGM.
JFA-PFE as a civil society and USAID as a donor partially sponsored the event and also partook in the event. The city run was greatly supported by the Amhara Regional State which also strives to end child marriage by the year 2020.
